Our PreK Program
PreK 3 - 3 years old by September 1
Children who are 3 years old by September 1 will participate in our preschool program. These children are exposed to a more rigorous curriculum, Learning Without Tears, that prepares them for kindergarten. Learn more about Learning Without Tears here. In this program, children are learning letters, letter sounds, counting to 20, handwriting, art, and more! A report is sent to you so that you can reinforce, at home, what is being taught in class. Of course, we are also trying to grow good citizens, so children are taught self-help skills, and how to be kind and respectful to others. The work the children have done in class is sent home every week, so parents can see what their child has learned.
PreK 4 - 4 years old by September 1
Children who are 4 years old by September 1 will participate in our Pre-K 4 program. At Essentials Preschool we are committed to having our 4-year olds ready for kindergarten academically, socially and emotionally. Our core curriculum and instruction is from the Learning Without Tears curriculum. Learn more about Learning Without Tears here. In this class, we learn phonics (most children will be reading by the time they graduate from Essentials Preschool), numbers and math, songs, social skills, and more!
Keeping track of what your child is doing and learning is easy at Essentials Preschool. Regular communication is sent home to inform you of The Brightwheel app will send real-time notifications with what your child is learning, when they have eaten, and even provide you with pictures and videos of your child!
Keeping up with our "graduates" after they leave is very important to us. 100% of survey respondents have said that their children were ready academically and socially for kindergarten, and all stated that they would recommend us to a friend.
